Some welding symbols supposed to have break line. But when I do right click on welding symbol, then Properties -> Text and Leader, I can see that Break Line option is impossible to use. Why is that? Thank you.
Vladimir, The break line for all annotations is the line that is connected to the back side of the leader. For a callout it is in between the leader line and the text of the callout. This is typically the horizontal line of the annotation. For the weld symbol, this line is a fixes length relative to the symbol. Is this the line you are refering to? Or, are you specifically refering to another piece of the weld symbol display? Regards, Rick B.
Thats what I mean (see attached image). According to the book "Blueprint Reading for Welders. 7th Edition": "The arrow of the welding symbol may be shown with or without a break. When shown with a break, the break is made toward the member of the joint that is to be prepared or shaped. Note that if there is no preference as to which joint member is to be prepared, or it is obvious which member is to be prepared, the arrow need not be shown with a break."
Vladimir, What you are describing is what would be refered to as adding an additional handle point on the leader line. This is very simple. Click on the annotation object (weld symbol in this case). This selects the weld symbol. Hold down the 'Alt' key on the keyboard and click on the leader line of the selected weld symbol where you want to insert what you call the break. You will see an additional handle/drag point inserted at this location. Now you can drag this point to produce the desired result. Regards, Rick B.
