Solid Edge ST6 will be the first release to support Windows 8.
Solid Edge ST5 does not support Windows 8. Any ST5 issues that are specific to Windows 8 or IE 10 cannot be addressed until ST6.
Based on our testing, most Solid Edge operations (Part, Sheet Metal, Assembly and Draft) work the same on Windows 7 and Windows 8. On Windows 8, we highly recommend installing Solid Edge ST5 to a non-default location (somewhere other than the default Program Files folder).
In some cases, .NET 3.5 has to be manually activated to use Solid Edge Tutorials, Insight, and Simulation Express.
Solid Edge License Utility, Solid Edge License Borrowing, Solid Edge Embedded Client, Solid Edge Insight XT, Solid Edge Web Publisher, and Solid Edge Engineering Reference have known problems on Windows 8 and will not work successfully with ST5.
