When the program was loaded, you selected a default measurement of english or metric. This can be changed permanently by renaming some template files (respond back if this is what you want to do), or it can be changed when you create a new file by clicking on the New File icon (or File/New menu) and then selecting the "More" tab. Metric templates will have "met" at the end of the filename, and English templates will have "eng" at the end of the filename. If you have an existing file already started that you would like to change, you must change the Units used by the dialogs (for data entry/readout - found under File/Units menu) and the dimension style being used (you can select a pre-formatted one from the pulldown or modify yours under Modify/Style menu). -- Ken http://grundey.blogspot.com "joe gay" wrote in message news:firstname.lastname@example.org... > > I would like to change from a millimeter default scale to an inch scale > upto .000 do I have to reload the program or is there an available > settings > button? > > THank You, joe > >
Joe, It depends on what you really need to do. When you install the product, you specify the units that you work with most often. This will set up the software and the default Draft templates for that units type. If you create inch files most often but want to create metric files sometimes, you do not need to reinstall the software. Create a new draft file by specifying a metric template. You can do this by using File-New. Click on the 'More' tab in the File New dialog. Click on a metric template, such as Normmet.dft, and create your new draft file. If you want to always create metric files, I suggest you just uninstall and install the product again. There will be a dialog displayed during installation where you can specify the units. Select Metric units. The default templates will be set up for metric. Regards, Rick B.
