decimal places desplayed on drawing

I want to display a variable on my drawing that is computed based on a calculation
from the other variables in the drawing's variable table. I am using the callout
command, looking up the variable and putting it on the drawing. My problem is, I
can control the decimal places. It currently is to 2 decimal places and I need 3.
In file properties all of the units are set to 3 or more places. Is there something
that I'm missing?
Thanks
Doug

Re: decimal places desplayed on drawing

Doug,
I guess you are using property text to extract the variable.
Formatting property text is described in Help.
Click on help.
Click on Solid Edge drafting Help.
Click on the Index tab in the help dialog.
Key in 'property text' in the search field. Press enter.
Double click on 'decimal places' in the list under property text.
In the topic, you will see a section about 'Set precision for numeric
properties'.
This should give you what you need.

Re: decimal places displayed on drawing

For the help included with version 20.00.01.08, there is no 'decimal places' subheading in the index. Rather, double-click on 'formatting' and choose 'creating property text' from the pop-up.

However, specifying the number of decimal places seems to imply truncation. A dimension with an actual value of ".1495" and 3-place precision is displayed as ".150" -- but the same value displayed by %{dimname/@3|V} is ".149".

How to work around this?

Thanks!

Re: decimal places desplayed on drawing

Ken,
I cannot reproduce the problem.
When I format the decimal placces, it rounds up.
Can you send your file?
Thanks,
Rick B.
