frequent crashes

I installed Solid Edge 2d a couple of days ago, and find that it locks up frequently and needs to be manually shut down. It occurs doing simple selection commands, line creation etc., and occurred while running the tutorial as well.

My PC data is below:
Windows Vista Home Basic
Dell Dimension E521
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+ 2.00 Ghz
3 Gig ram
32 bit operating system

graphics card:
NVIDA GeForce 6150LE
ForceWare version 97.46
320 Mb cache
64 Mb video memory
0 system video memory
256 Mb shared video memory

Thanks

Re: frequent crashes

Try turning the hardware acceleration on the video card all the way down.
The following is how you do this on XP, but I believe it applies for you
also.
Right mouse click on the screen with no applications running.
Click Properties to run "Display Properties'.
Click on the Settings tab.
Click the 'Advanced' button.
Click on the 'Troubleshooting' tab.
Set 'Hardware acceleration' to None.
Click on OK.
Click on OK on The Display Properties dialog.
Try running 2D Drafting again.
If it runs OK, bump up hardware acceleration until you have a problem and
then move it back down one notch.
