morphing between curves

Hi there.

I was wondering if it is possible to define a curve as a weighted average between 2 other curves.

For example, imagine a circle and a smaller square inside the circle. Is there a way to get curves that are morphing the circle into the square?

In my case it would be with spline curves rather that with circles and squares.
