unable to open file

Hi, we have a user who has created file, and was working on it fine. However on trying to open the file today he gets an error stating the drawing was created in a pre-release copy of the software and is no longer valid?

Severla users have tried to open teh file with the same results.

Any suggestions?

Re: unable to open file

Hi,

the file was created using V20 opf the free 2d software.

The file opens OK in teh viewer, but not the main 2d package. Have also checked with version ST, ST2 & ST3.

Will check if I am allowed to send the file.

Re: unable to open file

Was this ever solved?

I have the same problem with several .par & .psm files missing

Re: unable to open file

We have this issue. A number of files in a number of divisions within the company were corrupted when the server went through a relatively regulation shut down to allow for the replacement of some UPS batteries. Didn't seem to affect draft files, but .par and .asm were hit hard. The worst affected files were those that were worked on recently but it was not unusual to have issues on files that had not been looked at for several days. We have a PR for it 7936956...

Any advice to our IT people would be appreciated. They appear to be stumped (it also affected some word documents and some .pdf's, but nowhere as much as the Solid Edge files
