v20 2d files in ST7

Hi,

Have recently downloaded the freebie ST7 2D package.

I have some 2D files which were created in v20 from a 3D model.

They open ok in ST7 but when I try to work on them, the geometry is non-locatable.

That is it does not highlight when the cursor is placed over it;

it cannot be modifies, or selected to ad dimensions.

Sorry if this has been asked before.

Brian

Brian,

This is by design. Solid Edge 2D Drafting is primarily intended to be used as a 2D drafting tool. It does open Solid Edge native Draft files and all the geometry will display including drawing views. However, it is not intended to be used for annotating drawings created from 3D models. This is why the drawing views are disabled. Solid Edge users can use 2D Drafting for collaboration purposes such as markup to send back to the original owner. It can also be used to open the Draft files and print them in the native Solid Edge Drafting format.

Regards,

Rick B.
