Importing and Exporting Files

N/A
The main purpose of trialing this software for myself was to open up possibilities of working with other companies that use it.
The company I work for typically runs CATIA. Is there a method of opening a file created in CATIA and continuing the development in SolidEdge?

At present the only file I have managed to import was a step part.

We really need the ability to import assemblies.

Your assistance will be appreciated.

Kind regards,

Hi,

Solid Edge can export/import many non-native documents (stp, x_t, ipt, iam, sldpart etc.)
And of course it can open CATIA V4 and V5, which can be used to continuing the development in SolidEdge.

I think that 45-days trial version can open CATIA files. Look in Open dialog in Select file types filter.

The ability to open CATIA files directly is an extra cost item. It may or may not be included in the free trial, but it is available once you purchase the product.
