Sketching

N/A
hello all,
I have used Solid Edge since the v1.0 Demo disc, but am now at a company that uses ProE.

I have a small chance of getting SE in house, and I just installed my 45 day trial.

So here is my question.

When I start to sketch, I prefer the part to automatically come up to where the sketch plane is normal to my vision. I used to know how to set it to do that, but have forgotten it in the 2 years since I have been away.

Can someone remind me?

Depends on where you start, Sync or Ordered.

Sync uses more of a 3d Sketching in space approach. You can lock to a plane with F3 and then hit the sketch view button.

Ordered mode features still auto rotate. There’s just no planes displayed on initial use. Use the invisible planes of the base coordinate system for initial ordered features. You can control the plane orientation within the Options dialog on the General tab.

Perfect, answer! Thank you czy22t. I looked and missed the location on the general tab.
