Solid Edge ST7 Released

by Community Manager Community Manager on ‎08-08-2014 01:02 PM (25,988 Views)

This is fresh off the presses, or at least fresh from my inbox. Laura Watson has said that ST7 will be ready for customer download by early next week, and that English DVDs (107.00.00.104) should begin shipping in a couple of weeks, with other languages to follow.

ST7 has, among a lot of other enhancements, Keyshot added to it so you can make cool renderings easily. If you're interested in that, stay tuned because I'm going to announce a monthly rendering contest once a few of you have downloaded and installed the new version.

Remember that there is a a lot of other cool stuff in ST7 too. If you want to be reminded of all the articles on ST7 that have been written, just type "ST7" into the search box in the upper right corner on the gray bar, and a list will pop up.

I'm very excited to see what kind of cool stuff you all will create with this great new version of the Solid Edge software! Thanks for your patience on the release, I hope you'll agree that this version from both the content and quality points of view is one that has been worth waiting for.

Patience, please. I LOVE your enthusiasm to be the first with released code, just give us a chance... Try 104.

That's how I roll.....to be fair, you guys created this monster!...and besides, patience has never been a strong point of mine. Robot Embarassed

I have another crisis though.....my 100GB SSD is nearly full. Probably of Windows, Java & Adobe bloat [aka: updates] So now I have to upgrade this system a little, which is going to delay my move to a Surface Pro3.

I can't find the 64 bit version, will this be uploaded soon or is it a native file?

Hello Joris,

Just ignore the "32-bit Intel" at the top. Number 5 in the ST7 section is 64 bit.

Kind regards,

Theodore

Thanks, the file is downloaded. Where can I generate an ST7 license file? The newest I see is 106...

Try the 104.

Why the "104" Matt?  One would not expect the ST4 license to work with ST7...

Ok, I thought you were referring to the build number. 104 is the release build.  Maybe that's the part that is taking some time getting set up.

The ST7 area has been apparently removed from the list, so this license generation issue is a moot point for now. I've had to call GTAC a few times to generate a new home license the day of a new release, and I've always been off the phone and license-in-email within 5 minutes, for those who cannot wait for the license generator to be updated.

For what it's worth, I received my ST7 license as an automatic email Friday afternoon.

Wow... I really do live in a different universe... Downloaded SEST7_64_104.zip on Friday right after I got both my SELicenses via email. Then installed it first thing Saturday morning without a hitch. Used it all weekend and again today without any issues. ST7 has brought a ton of great things to Solid Edge. A lot of little detail stuff and some great new things as well. Great job Dan and everyone in Development.

Why I can't see the ST7 directory?

You should select "Product Download" , not "Product Updates".

Sweet, my license file was there this morning, so I downloaded it based on the current machine registered.

Was an easy decision, really...I'ma install on current SSD, because, as y'all know, I just can't wait.  Robot Indifferent Robot LOL

And to be clear, only the English download will currently be available.  It will take a little more time to see the additional languages.

All seems fine with the install....I'm going to try to work almost entirely in Synchronous now, and look forward to discovering the the great tools scattered within ST7, as I go about my working day[s].

Happy Edging....  Robot Very Happy

Has everybody got the license files that you need?

I got mine installed and running on the server.  ST6 users are still up and running too, so it was a smooth license server upgrade Smiley Very Happy
