Hello everyone,

Im a High School student in a program called  Engineering Academy.  As a senior design project I was planning to make a 3d scaner of sorts. The project plans is that it will take pictures of and object and an a program will define edges of the object and then get sent to soild edge where it will make a soild model.

The problem is i dont really know how to approach soild edge programming. I have some basic knowledge in Java, C, VB, and Matlab. If any of you know have any ideas what i could to, or where i can find some tuturials for programming for soild edge (starting from the basics) please PM me, leave a message on this thread

Thanks in advance!

The first thing you need to do is decide on a language that you want to use.  I can pretty much help you with just about any language you choose.  The following should help you get started.  It will be a lot of reading on your part to get up to speed with everything.  Let me know if you have any questions.

I have experience, experience with java, matlab, and labview. Im not sure if any of those help in this situation. Im willing to learn any programming language that is easy to use or the language that you prefer to use.

btw For my project i was wondering if soild edge has some kind of cordernate grids that I can program points into.

A little update.

Well so far in our project we have figured out how to define cordinates for and image.

I have Visual Studios 2005. Solid Edge V19. From what i read i think i can almost follow most of the programming concepts. The main thing im unclear about is how to take the file with the code and get solid edge to impliment it.

If anyone has some sample code that i can you to learn from it would help me out greatly.
