Beginning SolidEdge programming...

[ Edited ]

Hello,

After some research this website seems to be "the reference" for SolidEdge programming so i tought why not post to get advices from pros.

I really don't know Solid-Edge well but many users in the company use it everyday (mostly for technical drawings for equipements we design and make) but got skills and a couple years experience with vb, .net and a couple other languages. Their main request seems pretty simple: adding a couple buttons (or macros) for simple tasks (an exemple would be quick saving as pdf.)

I tried to find a tutorial or some information on where to get started (I haven't really looking in solidEdge itself as we have a limited number of licences and they are in use most of the time) but I could really find anything usefull.

Anyone got some references / source code / info i could base my work on?

Thanks

Robert

Welcome to the forums Robert!

You can use your WebKey to login to http://support.ugs.com and download http://support.ugs.com/docs/se/v15/ProgGuide.pdf. This is the latest (unfortunately) programming guide that Solid Edge has released.

You can also check out the C:\Program Files\Solid Edge VXX\SDK and C:\Program Files\Solid Edge VXX\Custom folders for additional documentation and examples.

I would also recommend that you look at my Downloads page. There I have uploaded that past 3 years of Solid Edge developers conferences that I have spoken at.

Give that stuff a try and post back if you need anything else.
