'Convert' plane/sketch profile XY points to base co-ord X,Y,Z points

This requirement is making my brain hurt a little.

As the title says really. I have a plane that is not orthogonally aligned to the base ref planes. It has line2ds on it. I can get the start and end points of the line, but these are X,Y locations with respect to the plane orientation (of course).

I need these points 'converted' to X,Y,Z, with respect to the base co-ord system. Anyone cleverer than me figured this out before and can point me in the right direction, or even better share code ;-)

The Profile object has a method ready that does the job:

Convert2DCoordinate(x2d, y2d, x3d, y3d, z3d)

Simply pass any 2d coordinates of the profile and you get its 3d position within the model space.

Hope this will ease your pain a little ;-)

Herbert

Herbet, that's wonderful!

I was looking for something like this a method of the profile plane. Doh!

You saved me! I was partway through reference plane root points and vectors, not to mention digging out my old college books!

Thanks,

Dave
