Creating Relationships (Assembly)

[ Edited ]

Hello,

I'm new programming with Solid Edge though I have much experience with Autodesk Inventor. and NET.

I wonder if there is a way to define the faces in a part that I will use to create the relathionships. In Inventor they are called iMates.

From what I've seen in Solid Edge I have to search through the whole piece faces to find the one that I need to make the relationship. I want to know if there is a way were I can "mark" this faces before programing.

Best Regards,

Daniela,

If it's possible to place the parts you're interested in an assembly first and set up the relationships, you can use CaptureRelationships on Occurrence (or the interactive Capture Fit command) to capture the fit. That will persist the constraint data in the part document so it can be easily placed later. The GetCapturedRelationshipInformation method on PartDocument should be able to retrieve what you'd need.

Hope this helps,

Jay
