Deleting blocks from a DFT

[ Edited ]

I have program that pulls blocks from a central file to build a format. Once these blaock are in the new file, I can place them on a backgroud sheet and remove them, but I cannot dlete them from the draft file. And once there in there, I cannot replace them if the one in the central file has been updated because of say the year changed.

Does anybody have any ideas?

You have to "unblock" or "explode" them before they an be deleted. Then you need to delete the BlockOccurence from whatever specific Sheet it is used on.

You don't have to explode it before deleting it. Besides, I don't want anything from the block left on the sheet since I'm going to be replacing it.

The delete does remove it from the sheet but it does not remove it from the file since you are only deleting the block "occurance".

I came across this recently, there is no way to delete a block from the draft file once it is in there.

I logged an IR and it was converted to a PR with number 1663220 so hopefully this will be added soon
