How to "send" a text message to a SolidEdge Addin?

HI,

From an external application, written in Visual Basic,

it's possible to send a text message to a SolidEdge addin?

As an example, I need to send to the addin the message  "Hello World"

and the Addin should set  SolidEdge Application.Caption to "Hello World".

Sound easy but is not.

Thanks in advance.

Best Regards

Massimo

Massimo,

I have put thought into what you're wanting but I'm not seeing a way to do it. I thought we may be able to get a reference to the addin com object via Application -> AddIns -> Item(x), but that assumption was wrong. The reason is because that returns a pointer to the SolidEdgeFramework::AddIn, not the SolidEdgeFramework::ISolidEdgeAddIn that we implement in our addin class.

I just don't see a way to do it.

HI Jason,

thank you, your indications are always precious.

Looks like it's not possible through standard API, but there must be a way of doing something like this.

Solidedge and addin recive and respond to windows events.

Maybe it's possible to "create" a user defined event, so the addin respond to this event?

When SolidEdge load the addin, the addin is somehere reachable (at least  by SolidEdge).

I will try to findit out.

Thanks

Regards

Massimo
