Try this:

objDoc.Activate 'This activates the document window if not visible, may be not needed.

objSE.ActiveWindow.View.Update() 'Update the view

or

'For Assemblies

objSE.startCommand(SolidEdgeConstants.AssemblyCommandsConstants.AssemblyViewRefreshWindow)

'For Parts

objSE.startCommand(SolidEdgeConstants.PartCommandsConstants.PartViewRefreshWindow)

Julian

Re: RE: How to refresh the view/display in assembly and part environment?

Hi SolidEdgeDev,

I am very new to solid edge ST7 (coming over from solidworks where the refresh is simply - 'Ctrl + q'), can you please explain what objSE and objDoc mean please.

Are you saying (for objDoc);

- open the solid edge document,
- go to the top left icon (with solid edge symbol),
- then I am lost (dont know what you mean by (SolidEdgeConstants.AssemblyCommandsConstants.AssemblyViewRefreshWindow)

Or do you mean to type this in somewhere in Solid Edge?

Any help would be fantastic, I am currently experiencing issues where I modify a part file (to move a hole for example), then go back to the assembly to find that the part has not moved even though the mate that defines its position is still there (not suppressed or broken) but not holding the part in the correct location, relative to the changed hole position.

I cant figure out how to refresh the assembly, to accept this change and move the part accordingly.

Kind regards,

Chris Mason

Re: RE: How to refresh the view/display in assembly and part environment?

You are asking in the DEVELOPER forum, so objDoc and objSE are variable names for the active Solid Edge document and the Solid Edge application objects respectively.

You will better ask your questions related the usage of SE in the Solid Edge User Community.

Anyway, in SE you hit simply 'F5' to refresh the display!

Hi Martin,

Thank you very much for such a quick reply!

I will in future ask my Questions in the Solid Edge User Community. Again thank you very much that is fantastic!
