Occurrence.MakeWritable - When do you need it?

Hello,

The Occurrence object has MakeWritable method.

When do you need to use it? In other words, how does an occurrence become non-writable? When should we check if the occurrence is writable? Or should we check it every time we want to edit the occurrence?

How does an occurrence become non-writable? this is a good question!

I have sometimes problems, if i try to change the properties of opened files (occurrences in the opened assemblies).

i check if the occurrenceDocument is writable with objDoc.SeekWriteAccess(glAccess)and if not than i do MakeWritable.
