Parseunit & Formatunit without SE open

Is it possible to use the UnitsOfMeasure.ParseUnit or UnitsOfMeasure.FormatUnit without being connected to a Solid Edge document. I can't find a way at the moment and don't want to have to write my own function for it.

I have a program to create some parts, it allows the user to input sizes but I would like it to validate there input but I don't want to have to have a document open in SE until I start creating parts.

TIA

James

James,

I'm sorry to say no, you'll need a document to accomplish this. The UnitsOfMeasure object is only available when you have a document open. I don't think it will matter what kind of document you have because you can cast any document as SolidEdgeFramework.SolidEdgeDocument and that interface has the what you're looking for.

You can always create an instance of Solid Edge and not make it visible until you're ready.
