You did not specify what programming language you use so it's hard to give an example. I can give you hints though.

Add a reference to sethumbnail.dll for thumbnail previews that you can show in a picture box. There is a SeThumbnailExtractor class and it has a GetThumbnail() method that will give you a handle to a bitmap that you can work with. For more complex previews, you can use the SEPreview.ocx as an ActiveX embedded object.

example:

private void Get_Image(string sFileName)

{

int hImageSE;

Image imagePic;

SeThumbnailLib.SeThumbnailExtractor SEThumb=new SeThumbnailLib.SeThumbnailExtractor();

SEThumb.GetThumbnail(sFileName, out hImageSE);

IntPtr iPImage = new IntPtr(hImageSE);

imagePic = Image.FromHbitmap(iPImage);

...

// imagePic.Save(sFileName + ".png", System.Drawing.Imaging.ImageFormat.Png);

imagePic = null;

if (SEThumb != null) {

System.Runtime.InteropServices.Marshal.ReleaseComObject(SEThumb);

SEThumb = null;

}

Best Regards
