SE files in IE

[ Edited ]

Is it possible to embed the free SE viewer as part of a web page? I have been trying, but everytime my web page loads, I get an IE add-on error while the page is trying to enable the SE viewer.

Thanks

I am by no means an expert in this topic but attached is an example for you to try.

You can use any ActiveX control in a web page as long as you know it's CLSID.

SEPartX's CLSID = {E03935A5-FBAD-11D0-8AC7-0800362FB302}.

Simply modify the html to reflect the classid and you should be good to go.

i.e.

classid="E03935A5-FBAD-11D0-8AC7-0800362FB302"

Does this apply to assembly files too? Can someone list the class id's for all SE files or tell me where I might find them?

Bill,

Solid Edge has 2 viewers, a 3D viewer and a 2D viewer. You can find the CLSID's in the following registry paths.

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SEPARTX.SEpartXCtrl.1\CLSID

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SEDRAFTX.SEDraftXCtrl.1\CLSID

The SEPartX Viewer should view .asm files just fine. Revision Manager also uses these two controls.

Works perfectly. Much better than dashboard, IMHO.

Thanks,

Thanks for the tips. I've been thinking about that for ages.

Is there a way to get IE to open a file automatically ??

Cheers
