Solid Edge addin

[ Edited ]

Hi,

I downloaded the vb.net edgebar addin example, and it works well in runtime, but when I try to debug it, it starts Solid Edge, the splash screen appears, and Solid Edge exits without doing anything. I tried to catch the onconnection event with a breakpoint, but nothing happened.

Thanks in advance for any help,

Zsolt

Zsolt,

Great to hear from you . Would you mind .zip'ing your solution and attaching it to a reply post in this thread? I'd be happy to take a look at it for you. I just need to get my hands on what you're seeing . Thanks!

Jason,

it seems I need another mug of coffee in this morning to wake up... I can't find the way to attach a file to a post...

Am I missed something?

Zsolt,

It appears you're not the only one who needs another cup of coffee. Well my excuse is that it's 3:30 a.m. here . I rebuilt my website over the past week and I simply forgot to enable the attachment functionality for you guys. It was enabled for admins so I saw it and "assumed" you had it too .

It should be working now. Give it another try when you get time.

Jason,

you won :-) It works now, please find enclosed the project.

I tried the following steps:

- start VS.NET, and load the project

- start the project with debugging

- Solid Edge V17 starts

- enable the addin

- Solid Edge exits...

maybe I missed something important... unfortunately I have limited .net experience...

Many thanks,

Zsolt

p.s. in Hunary it's 10 o'clock a.m., which sound better... :-)

Zsolt,

I suspect it's a language issue, although I cannot prove it at this point. What is the default language setup on your pc? I attached a much simpler addin to this post. There is a breakpoint in the OnConnection() event. I bet if you debug this project you will hit that breakpoint. If so, then I've got some locale issues to workout with the templates. Let me know how it goes.

Hi Jason,

A year ago I created an addin for SolidEdge using COM/VB6. I want to build a new version of this addin using c#. I was exited to find your templates because this makes my life a lot easier.

Though I got the same problem described here and hope that a solution has come up. Did you find a solution for this problem?

I already tried the simplified addin but that one does not work either.

Thanks,

the solution without uninstall framework 2.0...

add this in Edge.exe.config in SolidEdge program path:

the Edge.exe.config from SolidEdge...

after...

the VS2003 debug is now working...

Thanks All...

Aldo,

xml should work if you enclose it in tags.
