Starting Revision Manager failure

Using VB.net 2013 and attempting to create a new instance of Revision Manager and get the following error...

An unhandled exception of type 'System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException' occurred in mscorlib.dll

Additional information: Creating an instance of the COM component with CLSID {DF778D19-0AA4-11D1-BC6E-0800360E1E02} from the IClassFactory failed due to the following error: 80010001 Call was rejected by callee. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80010001 (RPC_E_CALL_REJECTED)).

Any ideas why?

Thanks,
Ken

Ken,

We really need to see your code or a .zip of a solution demonstrating the problem. I just tested this on my Windows 8 x64 using Solid Edge ST6 x64, Visual Studio 2012, .NET 4.0 project and it worked fine.

Module Module1
    <STAThread>
    Sub Main()
        Dim objApplication As RevisionManager.Application
        objApplication = New RevisionManager.Application
        objApplication.Visible = True
    End Sub
End Module

I'm using the OpenSave app from the Custom folder of ST6.

Option Strict Off

Option Explicit On

Imports Microsoft.VisualBasic.FileIO

Imports RevisionManager

Imports System.Runtime.InteropServices

Dim objRevisionManager As RevisionManager.Application = Nothing

objRevisionManager = New RevisionManager.Application

Thanks,

Ken,

I too am seeing some "oddities" in the OpenSave example. I will continue to try and figure out why but in the mean time, can you try running the attached example to see if it will execute properly and report back?

That worked and I think I know the process that crashes it (Insight based application.DocumentsSearch), but what is really weird is that after that happens, I am unable to open revman via the API again without getting that error...
