Updating Variables?

[ Edited ]

Hi All,

Can anybody tell me that is it possible to edit & update the part variables without opening the part file?

Also what exactly does "Solid Edge Vtable interfaces for Geometry and Structure" means?

Hi Prasad,

U have to open the part to update the variables. But u can do it

by "objApp.Visible = false" ,with this solid edge instance will open in the background and will not visible to us.

u can do all your work on the part with setting visible property to false.

Hemant,

Thanks for your quick reply but actually i am familier with this method. What i am doing is i am updating almost 25-30 parts from an assembly. So that it is taking time to open and update the parts. (i know this is the only way to cope with it). It was just a trial wheather we can do it in other way or not.

Anyways thanks.

All,

Somewhere i heard about exposing a variable and you can update it without opening the part file.

Is this possible means did anybody try it? After exposing a variable, it shows the name and value in Custom Properties. I tried changing it but it gave me no error as well no updation of variable.

Any views?
