activeX viewer without SE installed

[ Edited ]

Bonjour !!!

Good morning every one,

thanks Jason for your site.

My Access VBA macro launches a SEDraftX activeX to show results in a query form. It works well but I need to install SE on every workstation, even if un-needed. To avoid this, I tried to manually regsvr32 a local copy of the SEDraftX.ocx instead of install a full SE.

DOS line hereafter

c:\program files\solid edge V18\program>regsvr32 SEDraftX.ocx

Does anyone have a way or a turn around to use a SE activeX without installing a full SE?

regards

Ludovic,

All you need is the free viewer.

Dear Jason,

merci (thanks) for your answer.

You're right, my VB6 macros using SE activeX do work only with the viewer installed.

I just wonder why my Access VBA macro doesn't ... it needs a full SE install.

I'm going to develop again that small Access macro on a workstation without SE installed, only SE Viewer ... to see if it behaves better.

cordialement

Regards

Ludovic,

I can't imagine why you would need full SE for that to work. The viewer components are (should be) the same if you install just the viewer for full SE. If you can't get just the viewer install to work in Access, I guess I just don't know the answer.

Good luck!
