performance + correct workflow

Hi,

I have a code which runs on ASM & moves all files to "in work".

Currently it opens each file change the status and save the file, than close the file.

1. Is there a way to save file without opening it?

* I'm NOT looking for a work around using the property manager.

* I'm looking for a way to use the SolidEdgeFramework.SolidEdgeDocument I already have found when

looked at the ASM, without opening the file. My assumption is that if I can change the status of a file I should be able to save my changes without opening the file.

2. If I'm forced to open a file is there a silent open like in SW?

I wouldn't like to popup windows for the user..

Hi,

you may use the RevisionManager API to do the job, which will certainly perform better. But if you require to get the operation done while the ASM is opened by an user with Solid Edge then you should search the forum for opening a file without displaying a window. I think R.D. Holland recently gave here some valuable input on this issue.
