revision manager to get parent of part or assembly

Hello,

I've been trying to use revision manager to search for the parent of a part or assembly file. I could search for child using the linkeddocument but I cannot figure out a way to find what assembly a certain part belongs to. Thanks.

Hi Linh,

you have to use WhereUsed to find any parents of an asm/par/psm.

Hi linh

Wolfgang is right. the link to parts is always at the parent asm or dft, and since a single part can be placed in many asm and dft the whereused can be terribly slow crawling through. I've also battled with it and eventually created a program that creates an all links database (for the whole cad lib). when i need to find a parent i search the database (takes about 2 sec) instead of crawling with whereused.
