A reason why I am not in love with ST

Phenom

I know and apreciate Synchronous but to be honest I never felt in love with it.

And the reason is that on daily basis problems like the one in the video starts to occour.

Sometimes you just need to restart Solid Edge and magically it works, sometimes your only option is to make the edit in ordered and then move to synch.

Hi @Fiorini

sometimes things are running bad and even worse.

But to give You an answer why it is not possible to move the hole, for that we have to less information about it.

Try to capture the hole SE screen so that we also can see, what is in the pathfinder, which options are onn or off at the moment, and so on.

One idea I can have out of this small box of Your screen.

Is it possible, that this hole is a member of a pattern?

regards
Wolfgang

Hi @Fiorini

and I'm also not able to open the attached RAR file, in the hope that this could be the part.

Move is possible it is a copy that is not possible (hold the CTRL key while clicking the wheel arrow).

And no it is not in a pattern.

I can open the RAR regularly, but I upload a ZIP too

Hi @Fiorini

what I have seen, this problem is more than a Sync only.

For me it seems, as Your part is corrupted in some way, as what I have found are some surfaces (maybe former interpart copies, etc.) which make this part corrupt.

You can see that from the beginning any change will not be possible due to this geometric conflict in the body face topology.

I hide the volume /design) body and now man can see those 4 cylindars.

After deleing them, everything works fine.

I have seen this issue a time ago with ST9 under a certain MP but this alerady should be fixed for a couple of month (MPs)

Attach the video as ZIP due to the upload problem

Thanks for the debugging of my part.

That surface was probably the result of a failed move\copy of holes.

The fact that it doesn't appear in pathfinder didn't make me try to find it.

I am on ST9 latest MP by the way and wish such kind of problem with synch should not exists.

Hi @Fiorini

I only can agree with Your wishes, that we all do not want to get those type of problems.

And, maybe this is a good time for wishes, that short time before Christmas.

Maybe our wishes get fulfilled

For me, the fatal flaw with Sync is that you can't make one part re-size as a result of another part's change without linking variables. In ordered I can using sketch relations.
