I'm looking for help/advice prior to adding some custom parts to the standard parts database. I want to add a range of Nork-lock washers. My question is about the fastener system in SE. Do I need to do anything specific to allow the custom parts to be used/recognised by the fastener system?
Solved! Go to Solution.
AFAIR ther must be additional properties defined in the standrad parts library to let parts recognized for fastener system use.
But this is done so seldom, that I also first have to search for the appropriate document.
But in the meantime just do a search in the standrad parts help pages.
do You have a installation with the normal Standard Parts Database installed.
If not I think You can do it on YOur computer what will take a couple of minutes and then YOu will have the help pages for it.
Found the info. Seems it should be easy enough....
Select 'Add from manual data entry' and click on 'Next'.
In this step you should select the parts you want to register as customer standard parts. You can add documents from a specified path in bulk (Add Path) or add particular files (Add Files). You can even remove files from the list (Files to Add) via the 'Remove selected' button.
Settings in this step are optional. If you want your custom part to be used as a fitting (or tube) by Solid Edge Piping, you can check 'Add to Piping' option and set a number of coordinate systems pairs. To create a custom part to be used in Fastener Systems, check 'Add to Fastener System' and select appropriate Fastener type (bolt, screw, washer or nut).
