Advance Steel export into Solid Edge?

Genius

Has anyone exported models from Advance Steel to open in Solid Edge? We are new to this Advance Steel, and when we export, we lose some holes when imported to Solid Edge. Maybe one export extension works better with Solid Edge import?

Hi,

As mentioned before, IFC import will do the trick.. but...

We did a testrun with Tekla.. a similar program... and in this kind of software "holes"  are not "drilled" into the beam.. its a sort of internal reference, to show a circle on a drawing and to project 3D view of a bolt / nut combination when you look at that connection in 3D...

So when you do a export, there is no hole to export... and you will end up with a lot of beams and plates without holes...   !@#$^%@$^....

There is a fundemental difference between solid modellers and those "database" oriented steel frame built software.

Succes and kind regards,
