Advanced Part Modeling: Bodies and Surfacing in Your Process

Hello together,

I have a problem with using the split command. I have used the split command in the part design for creating different bodies. When I add a part with different bodies in an assembly, I can’t hide one of these bodies. But I have to hide for example a body for chuck, which is just a help for manufacturing but it is not a part of the product. Do you have an idea?

Thanks in advance!

You can either:

1. Make one a construction body, in which case it won't show in assembly by default.

2. Or you can publish the multi-body file to an ASM. The publish will make an associative part file of each body and so since they are separate parts can be displayed independently.

Dan,

Yes, this solution is good.

It should be very nice if As Last Saved (Show/Hide Component) option can work for Design bodies. It works well for Sketches, Surfaces... Smiley Wink

Thank you Dan,

I decided for the second solution, as I need a view with these parts in the drawing. It works well and the function that an assembly is automatically created with is very helpful.
