Alternate Assembly or NOT?

I believe alternate assembly is what i want to use but it is grayed out. How do i activate this option? I would like to rotate the large box 180degs, so i have two different positions. how do i do this?

Re: Alternate Assembly or NOT?

Hi,

-Click on the left Icon "New" to create you Alternate ASM

-Open your Variable table

-Add the Angle Variable to your Alternate Variable

So you can switch between your 2 members and modify your 2 Angle variable for the 2 positions

I hope it helps you.

Yasser

Re: Alternate Assembly or NOT?

I am sorry i was not clear with my issue. My "new" button as shown in the pic is grayed out (not active) so i can not select it. I have open an asm file with two items in it. one  is a par and the other is an asm. I am not sure what is preventing me from selecting the "new" button.

Re: Alternate Assembly or NOT?

Has the assembly been edit-opened from another assembly (i.e. by selecting Open from the context menu when a sub-assembly is selected)? It will be disabled in that case.

Re: Alternate Assembly or NOT?

Good answer. Just as an addition, I opened mine from a drawing face and it locked out the New Member icon the same. Came out of the assembly and the drawing, reopened the assembly and the icon was active.

Happy days.
