Am operating Version 17 and in Windows 8 I get a cascade effect plus ghosting of the opening page

Using new Dell XPS pc with windows 8.1 Pro with i&-3779 CPU@3.40Ghz 64 bit 12GB RAM GeForce GTX 660 graphics card.

The effect sometimes keeps me from selecting items with windowing.  The ghosting effect "reveals" the start page.

In view mode whendragging around the zoom command I get the cascade matrix.  Both issues are illustrated below.

I know this is ancient software but I need to keep using it.

Any thoughts as to how to correct?

Thanks for any ideas

It is not supported on anything but XP for a reason.  The change from XP Win7 brought along with it some graphics changes between the window versions and Solid Edge had to be updated to account for it.   Your only option would be to set your Solid Edge Graphic options to one of the following and try it out to see if it relieves your issue, but the tradeoff will most likely be a negative hit on performance.

  • Graphics Card Driven (Direct3D)
  • Backing Store
  • Software driven
