Assembly - automaticaly show planes

I don't know if it exists, but I thought I read about it long time ago.

Is it possible when placing parts in an assembly to show the planes? Now I need to do some extra clicks and I thought I could show them when pressing a butting while clicking an the target part.

Somebody who can help?

Thanks!

Are 2 clicks ok for placing your parts in the Assembly? Or are you looking for another possibility?

That's what I do now.

It is OK, but nothing is perfect.

I thought there was a shortcut to press while clicking on the target part that made these 2 clicks obsolete. Am I wrong?

Hi,

Yes, you can do it from ST8.

SE Application button -> Options -> Assembly:

  • Show reference planes of component: (toggle on)

Keep display after placement or Hide after placement

I tried it with a shortcut of "Show Reference Plane". But we have to click on the Part first and we will still need 2 Clicks! Smiley Happy

Joris, you remeber well but it works only with the FlashFit command.

- Select the FlashFit command

- Select the first face\plane

- Hold down R key

- Select the target part and the planes will be shown

- Release the R key

- Select the target face\plane

wish this "R" key method was available for other relations commands too.

Also wish there was a key to show construnction geometry that I use a lot as reference for 3D relations.

Just curious, what do you not like about FlashFit?
