I have an assembly containing 4 different configurations of an alternate position assembly.
When I define the item numbers I am forced to give each configuration a different number.
When I go to the drawing and balloon them I get 4 different item numbers.
However, the parts list correctly shows 1 item with a quantity of 4.
This cannot be correct.
Edit: I am also forced to assign item numbers for parts that I have set to exclude from parts lists.
no, I cann't reproduce this here, but I'm using ST9.
For me it sounds like You havn't an alternate position assembly but a real family of assembly.
If I create a familiy of assembly then I see all familiy members in the property table.
Thanks for that, but it is definitely an alternate position assembly - the parts list works correctly.
We have a workstation loaded with ST9 and I have just copied all the files over to that.
The problem still exists.
I will try removing the assembly item numbers and start again with them on ST9 - see if that works.
Just re-created the alternate position assemblies in ST9 and it is still the same - when I place each one into another assembly I get different item numbers.
Just had a closer look at your images - they appear to show the item numbers for each part in the alternate assembly member - not the item number of the assembly member when placed in a higher level assembly.
That is where the problem exists.
I understand that you have problem to have connected/linked part numbers from ballon and number you have in head letter. If that is case, you just need to be sure about one thing:
1. Ballon - link to parts list - make it active/checked
Hope that will help.
