Assembly configurations with assembly features?

I have an assembly of two boards that are glued together then the ends get mitered.  Each part is modeled cut square and I have an assembly feature to show the miter.  Is there any way to suppress the assembly features in an assembly configuration so i can show the assembly in a draft before and after mitering?

I can do it with alternate assemblies, but would prefer to avoid those.

Using ST9

Thanks,

Brian

In view properties under model options there's button to hide assembly features. See if that does what you want.

This is in draft by the way.

This is another case where a feature or functionality is available in Draft but not in the assembly itself.

The other one is showing parts transparent without having to create a new facestyle.
