I am having trouble with the Balloon Feature in conjuction with a Parts List Table in the draft environment in Solid Edge ST9. See enlcosed image 1 for the setting selection used. Some item balloons appear and others do not.
I have included all items within the assembly in the "List Control" tab in the Parts List Table properties window.
What makes an item unable to have an attached balloon? Image 2 enclosed.
Why is the last completly greyed out? Image 3 enlcosed.
The dialog in image 3 only applies before you place the parts list.
The dialog in image 2 applies solely to the parts list. In it's current setting it will place an asterisk next to the item number in the parts list for any parts which do not have a balloon attached.
The dialog in image 1 determines what's in the parts list and the parts list format.
Thanks for your input.
I have every part within the assembly included in the window left of the screenshot in image 1. The balloons still only appear for some components and not others. Can you explain why this is the case?
Are they hidden in the view. IOW, no entity to attach a balloon to?
Just to be clear, you are not expecting SE to balloon each unit if there are duplicate items are you? For example, if there are four widgets shown, SE will only balloon one of them.
You can select to balloon all instances in the view. It's in the last tab of the parts list props.
But are these missing balloons in the same view you (the OP) set for the parts list?
@bshand I never noticed that option to balloon every item. I seldom ever use auto-ballooning and our standard was always to avoid ballooning duplicate items in a view. I guess not ballooning every item must have been the default and I never looked any further. Good to know that though - Thanks!
