Automatic selection of drawing template

Depending on the dimensions of the part modeling, the drawing background sheet automatically
I want to be designated.

For example

If the part size is 100x100, A4 paper
A3 paper if the part dimensions are 300x200
I would like to have A1 paper selected automatically

Is this possible?

Hii @Hclee

IMHO not with board tools and not automatically.

You either can do it using different templates or with a small macro You write

Hello hawcad
I like macros that hawcad uses. ^^
What can I do with it?

Hi @Hclee

nice to read Your answer,

but in that case I must say, that for this request I do not have a ready macro so far.

This was a motivation to You for writing such a macro yourself

The question also will be, will this be the right solution to the request?

What about drafting scale?

Another way to solve that, I have just remembered, is the use of q auick sheet template.

So You simply can define several quicksheets with A4, A3 and A2 with the names e.g. for parts until 100mm, and son.

Many people forget the possibility of using Quicksheets, where these are one of the big time saver we have with Solid Edge

To define a Quciksheet template is as simple as making the first drawing.

Create a drawing with a 100x100mm part, including all Your views, tables, detail views, etc. and finally say "Save as Quciksheet"

That's it!

Solid Edge will use the viewing information without the connection to that part and save this as a template

So using such a template only will ask You to put the part into one of that views, the rest is done itself

Look into the helping pages and search for Quick Sheet

Or - and we are happy to wait for YOur result and offer - write a small macro to do so.
