Hi,

Thankyou for the solution. But after pasting the bom in excel. It is
appearing like a picture, and not like as we get while using variable
contents in excel.

Kindly reply.

Thanks and regards,

This happen because you have selected "Copy" and not "Copy content" on the BOM.

Try again :-)

We already released a little tool for free for the BOM export to Excel.

Creates the BOM from the Solid Edge assembly within Excel.

You can configure the BOM including:

  • All properties
  • Physical properties like mass or area
  • preview of the parts
  • hierarchy
  • item number
  • table style
  • etc.

An example as PDF is here!

You can download the Excel-Makro here for free:

You just have to register and you will get the download link.

I got some messages about the preview images.

To extract the images from the Solid Edge files we developed little DLL. And this DLL has to be registered before you are using the Add-In in Excel. Otherwise there are no preview images.

All details about this are in the delivered Readme.txt.

Please have a look.

Hello
Can you add a model drawing to the parts list in Excel?

The problem of adding drawings to the Excel-Bom OOTB is that the 3D-model has no information about related drawings except you have a data management tool that has a "Where Used" function.

Here is a little video showing this. "Where used" in data management

(view in My Videos)
Long story short. Without any fast "Where used" the process to gather the linked drawings is to time consuming to be useful.

Hope this answers your question
