Cool model Sean.  Now the big question... Would you do the layout/conceptual work in Solid Edge today, or would you still use Rhino, and if so, why?  What would SE be lacking?

Thanks Ken,

In this kind of project, and the level of detail we were given, I'd strive to move as soon as I can into Solid Edge. Currently, I'd still have to start this in Rhino, largely because the data contained unsupported [mixed] geometric elements, "points, wireframes & surfaces" provided by the architect.

SE would need to be able to handle these, both in & out.

It seems that a 2D package that could do very simple 3D wireframe were known as 2.5D. AutoCAD LT would be such a product. It can do 3D wireframe and even view 3D models but can't do much 3D work.
