I think I am going crazy, first the frame tool could not work with standard parts and it still wont work with standard parts.
Now I cannot make a chamfer on the hollow section from standard parts???
Please help me with this one, why wont it do even a chamfer on a 80x80x8 hollow section?
See the attachment.
The strange thing is, when I draw my own hollow section the chamfers work.
The reason to do this is due to the WPS files, I need to make a full penatration weld and that is with a combined angle of 60° with 2 parts.

The main differences between your hollow section and STP's hollow section is that yours works well because it has not got any "small" faces...
That is in STP it has a "silver faces" and this is not allowed to run FEA and chamfer, etc...
Here is a video how you can repair it:
It's not because the import has small faces, it's because of the topology, if you check these tiny edges you will find that they are circular and that the radius is 0.025 mm.
This means that the largest chamfer which can fit is 0.025 mm
In NX there is a "Heal Geometry" function, isn't there something similar in SE ?
When i run the heal geometry on this example, NX removes these small faces.
