Cartesian coordinate dimensioning ORIGIN BS 8888 / ISO128

Dear community,

I'm trying to place the origin in the coordinate dimension of a hole table. As you can see have no problem stabilising the circle in the 103mm dimension to stablish the origin of it (see image).  The problem is trying to do the same to the X1 axis. Can anyone put some light on how to activate the circle in the XY1 coordinate system?

Hi @JosueVivas

is it possible to formulate Your request a little bit more in detail.

What exactly should be done how and where?

regards
Wolfgang

Hello @hawcad,

According to the BS 8888 "the origin of the coordinate dimension shall be indicated". There should be a circle establishing the origin of each axis for the hole table as seen in the picture below. I can't put a circle in the coordinate dimension in SE. or modify the location of the X1 and Y1 labels. I hope that now makes sense. Thanks.

Hi @JosueVivas

OK, understand and in a hurry I have not found any basic setting to achieve that for the origin marks of a hole table.

What You can do is to add a single coorinate dimension (base only) to show that this is the origin of Your coordnate dimensions and the hole table.

As You can see, to place both exactly I have turned on a grid!

Hi @JosueVivas,

The way shown by our great community asset @hawcad, is as I found also.....but further to this, you can also choose not to display the coordinate dimension text, leaving only the circle.

Hi @SeanCresswell

of course and absolutely Yes.

But I thought that this is nothing to be mentioned extra.

So if You like this to have just change the dimension to .

Thanks to You @SeanCresswell for pointing to this issue!

Hello @hawcadand @SeanCresswell,

Thanks for the input, this helped.

It's a shame that the user has to find a walkaround to comply to ISO 128. Does this mean that SE is not ISO ready? With so many years in the market, I find it hard to believe. Anyways, we have the short route thanks to you guys.

Best,

Josue
