Change material name for new parts AND for existing ones (?)

Hi guys.

How possible do that (ST7) ? If I rename the material (i.e. from 'Steel' to 'SAE 1020' , it works fine for new parts, and the table changes the favorite name too. But for the old parts (where is applied 'Steel'), nothing changes.

How to apply that automatically, in any case, when we manipulate (re-open) the part, draft (views and tables) or assembly files?

You can't change old standards on drawing without lot of work. Long a go we changed our dimension style standards. We had someone wright a macro to change these in old drawings. it work great. We also have one to change our title box. i know this probably wasn't you wanted to hear. but right now, unless someone comes up with something. there's no easy way to do it

Hi, TDB

Yeah... I expected I would have a lot of work to do with that.

In past SE versions, the Open & Save internal application saved some time about 3D Styles ans some other stuffs. But unfortunatelly nothing there to help on this case.

Anyways, thanks for your statement. I'll try to read about macros too. I've always being curious about.
