Convert to Sheetmetal...

Hi~

You want to convert from part to sheet metal using the feature in the title.
Using this function, it is not possible to show the shape of cut as shown in "Figure 3".
What should I do?

Hi there @Hclee,

Draw sketch lines at those corners, and use the "Rip" step on the "Thin Part to Sheet Metal" ribbon bar, to include the sketches and natural corners.....and you're done. Rather than the "Part To Sheet Metal" command, in these more complex transformations.

Re: Convert to Sheetmetal...

Thankyou for Answer..

Yes ...
I can not ...

Re: Convert to Sheetmetal...

Hi

the RIP step also can be done directly from point to point without the need for an extra skecth.

This is important if You have many of those situations to be solved.

Just hit the "R" key and click point to point for creating those split lines

Re: Convert to Sheetmetal...

HI hawcad

I am very curious about the "R" keyboard you mentioned. Does this apply to corner ripping?
This is the first time I hear it.
Do you have any pictures or videos ...?
I wonder how it is used.

Re: Convert to Sheetmetal...

Hi @Hclee

what does Your Command Bar say during the converting process?

Is there any information about the "R" key?

Re: Convert to Sheetmetal...

Thank you very much.
The prompt bar could not be checked because it was hidden in the beginning.
You are the best .. ^^

Re: Convert to Sheetmetal...

Hi @Hclee

that's as I always say:

"Take care about to have the Command Bar well situated on Your screen (I like it a little bit bigger below the pathfinder) then increase the text size so that everything could be read at anay time."
