You want to convert from part to sheet metal using the feature in the title.
Using this function, it is not possible to show the shape of cut as shown in "Figure 3".

Draw sketch lines at those corners, and use the "Rip" step on the "Thin Part to Sheet Metal" ribbon bar, to include the sketches and natural corners.....and you're done. Rather than the "Part To Sheet Metal" command, in these more complex transformations.

the RIP step also can be done directly from point to point without the need for an extra skecth.

Just hit the "R" key and click point to point for creating those split lines
