Creating Feature Libraries for Order and Sync

Good morning All,

I have been reviewing feature library creation. If i am doing it correctly there seems to be an issue with mismatching syn features with ordered parts and vise-versa. Is this true or am i doing something wrong? Do i need to carry two different libraries for the two different modeling?

The feature libraries have to reside in the modeling mode from which they were created.  If the feature library was created/constructed from Synchronous features/faces, you can use it while working in Synchronous.  You cannot place it in the part while working in the Ordered mode.  Similarly, if you created a feature library while working in Ordered mode, you cannot place it while working in Synchronous.

It's not to say, however, that you couldn't place an Ordered feature library on top of a synchronous part body.  Just switch over to Ordered first.  Perfectly legit way of doing "hybrid" modeling (both sync and ordered in the same part)

What this thread states to me is: Make all feature in ordered. Then you can use them in ordered or Sync.

While creating Sync feature "blocks". I do not get the "Feature Set Information" dialect box like i do when creating Ordered feastures. Sould i be getting this with Sync?Capture.JPG
