Cuts disappear when I unfold a sheet metal part?

So I have this flat that I am trying to cut away at it to get my desired part. The problem is once I cut the flat then unbend it the cuts disappear! So I am left with noting but a bent up blank. Please help me I am not sure how else to do this. I need to cut it down to the sketch then unbend the part to get the desired result.

Hi there,

If you simplify your outer sketch elements, it will function properly.....there was an overlapping line work that made the automatic geometry chaining fail. In fact, I just deleted almost all of the individual segments, leaving one to extend to each end of each side, and it worked.

I am not sure I am doing it correctly still. Could you post a small video of your process. Do you mean extend the lines to the end of the flat? The holes still disappear for me when I unbend. Which cut command do you use?
