Dimension Style Properties

Genius
Genius

Hi Everyone.

Hopefully a simple question.

I am wanting to modify our existing properties.

When doing lengths and diameters they are ok on horizontal or vertical (parallel),

When dimensioning a radius I always want to show it in the horizontal orientation.

Is there a way to make radius dimensions horizontal and all the other dimensions in parallel.

yes,

create a new style as needed and then turn on and set up "Dimension Style Mapping"

Hi @Dazzie

Hi @Johnson_BigMatt

no need for an extra dimension style.

Just change the values for .....  see picture to find it in English

Hi Phenom.

Just a quick addition.

Although this works, it will make all pull out dimensions horizontal. I was wanting the radius dimensions only to be horizontal.

Am I being too fussy?

@Dazzie,

Not at all....You need, what you need. There is a way to do it. Using a combination of the great info by @Johnson_BigMatt & @hawcad.

Set up a new dimension style [give the style a meaningful name] based on your current one, but with the mods to suit your radius only requirements.......then, when placing dimensions, you can switch easily back & forth between those styles on the dimension ribbon bar.

Hi @SeanCresswell

Hi @Dazzie

I  just like to mention again, that I do not see any need for an additional dimension style.

You simply can set the option for Your favorite stayle to change the "Override Pullout Text 2" to horicontal.

So You only need this style to achieve any style and text placement as wanted.

See video:

(view in My Videos)

But if You want to have two dimensions styles, also no problem, but then I would suggest to turn
the Automatic Dimension Style Mapping to ON
