I have a problem where I´m trying to attach a geometrical tolerance frame to a linear dimension and the frame is placed on top of the dimension text, please see attached pictures.
I can get it to look good if I change the dimension style to ANSI, but what i would like to know if there is a setting for the distance between the linear dimension and the geometrical tolerance frame so that they don´t collide?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Attach it to the dimension line below the text, not the dimension text, without a leader and it will snap onto the line.
Or attach it to either with the leader, turn off the leader then just drag it into position.
Thanks for your reply! I tried that and it is an option, however then it won´t always follow the dimension text if I move around.
Maybe there isn´t a way to control the distance as I would like?
I don't see that behaviour - the frame follows the dimension line or text perfectly.
What SE version are you on ?
OK, I've recreated the problem - it appears only when the dimension text is on the Right side.
Try it with the dimension text on the left.
Seems like an odd limitation that it´s only possible to place the dimension on the left side, but if thats the only way then I´ll have to live with that.
It would still be nice to be able to connect the box to the text and be able to control the distance between the two in some way, but I can´t seem to find that setting anywhere.
Try this -
Attach the box to the text with the leader line on.
Then turn off the leader.
You should now be able to drag the box into position and it should follow the dimension text.
