Does SE Insight and SE SP work with Sharepoint 2013?

[ Edited ]

Hi,

I'm trying to set up a test server with Solid Edge Insight with the latest available software versions. The readme file of Solid Edge ST7 MP1 states:

- Windows Server 2008 R2 or 2012 R2

- SQL server 2008 R2 or 2012

- Sharepoint foundation 2010 SP2, or Sharepoint server 2010 SP2

Microsoft says that you can run Sharepoint 2013 + Service Pack 1 on Server 2012: http://support2.microsoft.com/kb/2891274

Does anyone know if Sharepoint 2013 will work with Insight and SP and when it will be supported officially?

Hi,

I believe that SPF2013 is not supported for ST7 now.

Maybe it will get support via future MP, but personally I think that ST8 gets support for SPF2013.

You also could look into "InsightImplementationGuide.pdf document for Insight and SEforSPImplementationGuide.pdf for SESP.

There is only SPF2010 support listed.

Both pdf files you can find on DocumentManagement DVD.

Both ST7 Insight and SE4SP do not support SharePoint 2013.

Are there any news about the Sharepoint 2013 support for Insight out there?

Both Insight for ST8 and Solid Edge for Sharepoint ST8 support Sharepoint 2013 SP1.

ST8 release notes are here: https://support.industrysoftware.automation.siemens.com/docs/se/

Thank you!

Finally we get some more features to work directly from the Website (Shortcut menu) instead from the external Solid Edge Searchtool.

Consequently more and direct integration in to SharepointSmiley Happy

From the ST8 Release Notes:

Insight supports new shortcut commands with SharePoint 2010 and SharePoint 2013:
• Open with Life Cycle Assistant
• Open with Revision Manager
• Open with View and Markup
• Where Used
• Insert Component

In combination with the Sharepoint Listview technology it is perfect!

I am excited for that!
